Our latest update is centered on enhancing the core customer management experience, making it faster, more flexible, and more precise for developers, product managers, and technical founders.

We’ve streamlined the Customer Module UI and introduced powerful new features to simplify data collection and expand your European payment options.

This update is designed to cut down on administrative friction, giving you more time to focus on building and growing your product. Let’s dive into the key improvements that are now live.

Key Feature Updates: Precision and Customization

We’ve rolled out three major enhancements that directly address common pain points in subscription management and checkout flow.

1. Updated Customer Module: Search and Filter with Speed

The Customer Module, which includes the User List, Subscriptions, Invoices, and Transactions sections, has received a significant user interface overhaul. The goal was to transform data navigation from a chore into a seamless experience.

Key improvements include:

  • One-Click Copy Icons: Small copy icons are now placed directly next to IDs and emails. This makes it incredibly fast to grab an identifier for use in other systems or for API calls.
  • Advanced Filtering: New filter buttons allow you to quickly narrow down the lists. Now you can refine your results with multi-criteria filters for User List, Subscriptions, Invoices, and Transactions sections.
  • Streamlined Actions: We’ve updated the primary action buttons—New User, Refresh, Import, and Export—making them more intuitive and accessible.

What Problem It Solves: Previously, quickly isolating a specific set of users or transactions required manual data exports or complex queries. Now, the new filtering system provides immediate, in-app data segmentation. Furthermore, the simple act of copying a user or subscription ID for cross-referencing in other systems is now a single click.

Example Use Case: A support engineer needs to quickly find all users on the “Pro” plan whose subscription status is “Past Due” and whose account was created in the last quarter. The new Filter button allows them to apply these four criteria instantly, streamlining customer support and dunning processes.

For example, the new User List view clearly shows the one-click copy icon next to the User ID, along with the updated action buttons for Refresh, Import, Export, and New User. The new filtering system is accessible via the dedicated Filter button, allowing for powerful segmentation by criteria such as:

  • Subscription Plan
  • Subscription Status
  • Account Status
  • Account Creation Date

2. Custom Fields: Tailor Your Checkout for Better Data

We have introduced a highly requested feature: the ability to add Custom Fields to your checkout forms. This allows you to collect specific, non-standard information directly from your customers during the purchase process.

What Problem It Solves: Businesses often need to collect unique identifiers, internal tracking codes, or specific user preferences that are not covered by standard billing fields (like name, email, and address). This feature eliminates the need for post-checkout surveys or separate data collection steps, ensuring data integrity from the start.

Example Use Case:

  • Collecting a username for a SaaS application.
  • Asking for a company_vat_id for B2B invoicing.
  • Gathering a project_name to automatically configure a new service.

3. SEPA Direct Debit: Expanding European Payment Reach

UniBee now natively supports SEPA Direct Debit as a payment method. This is a significant addition for any business operating or expanding into the European market.

What Problem It Solves: While credit cards are common, many European customers, particularly in countries like Germany and the Netherlands, prefer or rely on direct debit for recurring payments. Supporting SEPA Direct Debit opens up your service to a wider customer base and can improve conversion rates in these key regions.

Example Use Case: A subscription box service is launching in the Eurozone. By offering SEPA Direct Debit, they can cater to customers who do not use credit cards for online subscriptions, ensuring they meet local payment preferences and maximize their market penetration.

Benefits for Your Business

These updates collectively deliver tangible benefits for your team and your customers.

  • Increased Operational Efficiency: The new admin filters and copy icons save valuable time for developers and support staff managing daily operations.
  • Enhanced Data Collection: Custom checkout fields mean you can gather crucial user data from day one, without any external tools or post-signup emails.
  • Broader Market Reach: SEPA Direct Debit opens up new revenue opportunities by catering to the payment preferences of the European market.
  • Improved User Experience: A customizable checkout and local payment methods create a smoother, more professional signup flow for your customers.

Breaking Changes

This release contains no breaking changes to the existing UniBee API. You can upgrade and start using these new features immediately with no modifications to your current integration. All new functionality is additive.
